Privacy Policy

DeviceClearance is operated by Press Pause Garage LLC. This page describes what we collect, why, and how long we keep it.

Alert signups

If you sign up at /alerts/, we store your email address, the signup date, and a source tag (which page the signup came from). Because the CAN-SPAM Act requires us to be able to demonstrate consent for the email we send, we also record the IP address, the browser user agent, and the page URL present at the moment you signed up. This consent evidence is retained for as long as the subscription is active and is used only to answer a dispute about whether or how you subscribed — never for marketing, profiling, or any purpose beyond proving consent.

We use your email to send you FDA clearance/recall alerts and a periodic digest. We do not sell, rent, or exchange subscriber addresses. You can unsubscribe with one click from the link in any email; unsubscribing is itself a consent event we log (the time and method) for the same compliance reason. Unsubscribing removes you from future sends immediately.

Server logs and hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request data — IP address, user agent, requested URL, and timestamp — for delivery, performance, and abuse prevention. Cloudflare's handling of that data is governed by its own privacy policy atcloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Analytics

We use a self-hosted instance of Plausible Analytics, a cookie-free analytics tool that does not track individuals across sites. It reports aggregate page views, referrers, and country-level traffic — no identifier is stored on your device, and this data never passes through a third-party analytics vendor's servers.

Amazon affiliate links

DeviceClearance is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by linking to Amazon.com. Affiliate links are marked with a small "aff" tag next to the link. When you click one and make a purchase, Amazon may set its own cookies and collect data under its own privacy policy — we do not receive or see any personal or payment information from that transaction, only aggregate commission reporting.

FDA data

Clearance, recall, and adverse-event records shown on the site come fromopenFDA, a public federal dataset. This is public-record data about medical devices and companies, not personal data about site visitors.

Email correspondence

If you email us, we retain that message for the duration of the correspondence plus a reasonable follow-up window. We do not add correspondents to any marketing list automatically.

Cookies

We set no first-party marketing or tracking cookies. Cloudflare may set a small number of infrastructure cookies for security and performance (for example, the bot-fight cookie__cf_bm). Amazon may set its own cookies once you leave the site through an affiliate link, per Amazon's policy.

Your rights

To have your subscriber data removed, use the unsubscribe link in any email or contact us directly — unsubscribing suppresses future sends and the address is deleted from the active list within 30 days. If you live in a jurisdiction that grants you the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you (California, the EU, UK, and similar), email privacy@deviceclearance.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

The site is intended for adults researching medical device regulatory data. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have received such information, email us and we will delete it.
